Since their whole ‘reinvention’ (effectively the transition from the ‘black era’ to the ‘pink era’) last year, The 1975 had no other choice but to release new merchandise to fit with this theme. Firstly, along came some standard printed t-shirts, adorned with pictures from more recent photoshoots, and song titles from the new album, I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It.
However, a recent announcement sparked excitement in fans – new merch! By having a quick browse over the band’s website, it is clear to see that a great deal of though has gone in to producing this newly designed merchandise – a compromise has been met between producing goods which are ‘in’ and people will want to wear, whilst still simultaneously representing the band.
The selection includes tastefully designed t-shirts, tank tops, hoodies, crew necks and hats, which are currently available for pre-order and will otherwise be available from September 1st. Take a look at our favourite pieces below:
These are the first caps released from The 1975’s official merchandising and they do not disappoint. A simple, yet popular design of cap, manipulated to represent the band by colour and logo. As well as the pastel pink which, in our mind’s, has become ‘The 1975’s colour’, the caps can also be purchased in black and white.
Available in sizes small – extra large, this top is a slightly different design to the normal t-shirt you can expect when searching for band merchandise. The cut-off sleeves design makes this a perfect top to wear to a concert – where the atmosphere is bound to be hot and sweaty and a lighter, smaller top will be greatly welcomed. The subtle logo compliment the stylish tye-dye effect, showing who the merchandise is from, without being too in-your-face about it.
White fade grey rectangle t-shirt
No merch collection would be complete without t-shirts, and this newly-designed one makes a change. Rather than the typical black or white, a grey shade has been opted for, giving the t-shirt a more casual effect, turning it into an item of clothing that could be worn everyday. The t-shirt still features the band’s logo in the centre, however, once again this is subtle and tasteful – fading from grey at the top, to white at the bottom. Once again, this item is available in sizes small to extra large.
We are thoroughly impressed with the new collection – picking our favourites was no easy task! You can browse all the merch here, and there are still tickets available for purchase for upcoming shows here.
